Safe Charging of Your Electric Bike

Low cost machines potential risks

Electric scooters and bikes are becoming more fashionable and with Christmas just around the corner, these items are expected to become popular festive presents.
And while these machines are sought after for their convenience and low cost, there is a potential risk of fire if they are mishandled, overcharged or damaged.

Key safety tips from West Midlands Fire Service include;
  • Do not charge E -scooters or bikes in locations that will block your exit if a fire breaks out, this will prevent your safe exit.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and always unplug your charger when its finished charging.
  • Never leave a battery unattended or charging while you are sleeping.
  • Make sure your battery and charger meet UK Safety Standards and only purchase replacement chargers from a reputable seller.
